A panel of judges will choose a winning couple and Thomson’s Facebook fans will then choose the bride’s dress, the music, the colour scheme, and the theme for the stag and hen parties.
Thomson will be giving couples the chance to win a unique wedding in Cyprus where the details will be crowd-sourced by the tour operator’s Facebook community.
The TUI-owned tour company has launched the #YourBigDay campaign where engaged couples will have the chance to win a destination wedding that will take place at Thomson Platinum Athena Beach Hotel in Cyprus. All flights, transfers, accommodation, all-inclusive board and the wedding breakfast are included in the prize.
Thomson’s #WeddingWednesdays, on Facebook will allow fans to suggest the colour scheme for the destination wedding, the song for the first dance, the bride’s and bridesmaid’s dresses, and the themes for the stag and hen dos.
The most popular suggestions will be put to a Facebook vote and the wedding planners will arrange the big day.
Loved-up couples have until 12th May, 2014 to enter and the winning pair will be chosen by a panel of judges. The couple will share their wedding planning journey by writing regular posts on the Thomson blog.
"Crowd sourcing a wedding is a first for the UK, a first for Thomson and a first for the holiday industry,” explained Jeremy Ellis, the Marketing and Digital Director for Thomson and First Choice.
"With one in five weddings now taking place abroad, more and more couples are looking to destination weddings as both something different to the norm, and also a more cost effective option.”
He added: "We are thrilled to be able to offer our planning expertise in resort, as well as the input of our Facebook users, to make one lucky couple’s wedding dream a reality."

The all-year-round warm weather, white sand beaches, rugged coastline, turquoise ocean, majestic mountains, historical architecture, delicious traditional cuisine, and hospitable island residents make it a fantastic choice for any special romantic occasion.
Cyprus is well known as the Island of Love because of its history as the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, and the island nation is a popular choice for idyllic weddings abroad and romantic honeymoons.
